Raymond Dalmau is considered the greatest basketball player in the history of Puerto Rico, particularly during his golden era in 1966. As one of the legends of Puerto Rican basketball, Dalmau once revealed the moment when he understood the importance of the Quebradillas Pirates, the team he played for, by wearing the number 17 on his jersey.
Renowned painter Luis Bravizky reacted to this story by creating a watercolor while studying at the Luchetti School of Fine Arts. In his artwork, Bravizky experimented by dividing the colors with lines that followed the geometric direction of the player on the court. This painting is a tribute to Raymond Dalmau and his legacy in Puerto Rican basketball.
